    Kaplan Financial announces 20% off full-time ACCA courses

    Kaplan Holborn College's sister institution, Kaplan Financial, has announced the launch of a new promotion. The 'Better' campaign sees full-time students receiving 20% off the ACCA course fees*, meaning students looking to study ACCA full-time can now benefit from premium tuition at prices as low as £396 per paper.

    Good news keeps on coming for one LLB Law student

    Kaplan Holborn College student Vondez Phipps has plenty of reasons to celebrate. Earlier this year, Vondez was awarded an achievement award by the University of London International Programmes for his second year exam results. Out of more than 3,000 students worldwide, Vondez came first in the world in his Law of Trusts exam.

    Debating competition grand final

    Last Wednesday, two teams of Kaplan Holborn College students went head-to-head to debate the motion: “Britain would be better off if Margaret Thatcher had never been Prime Minister” – particularly timely, as Lady Thatcher’s funeral had taken place only that morning. Proposing the motion was Law lecturer Nick Cartwright and his compellingly-convincing team Celine and Naphta. Opposing the motion was Law lecturer Rod Brazier and his fact-firing team Dernell and Danielle.

    LLB Law students receive achievement award

    Two Kaplan Holborn College students are celebrating being awarded prizes for achievement by the University of London International Programmes. Second year student Syed Shah achieved one of the highest marks on Scheme A, Year 1 in Europe, and third year student Vondez Phipps achieved the maximum mark awarded on Scheme A, Year 2 in Europe.

    Holborn College scholarships allows south London students to save on tuition

    Recent survey shows half of uni students will stay with parents 12 August 2011, Greenwich based Holborn College, a local college for local students, is offering six scholarships for students wishing to pursue a degree in law or business starting this September. To qualify for consideration, the student must have a minimum of 240 UCAS points (3 C’s at A Level or MMM in a BTEC National Diploma).

    Holborn College 2011 Debating Competition

    In September 2011, seven teams entered the inaugural Holborn College Debating Competition, each team comprising two students and a member of academic staff. The competition has provided eleven weeks of entertaining and stimulating debates, which have been enjoyed by students and staff, and on Monday 12 December the competition was won by Chitra Dharampaul and Bibi Briggs - both undergraduate law students in their first and second years respectively – and Rod Brazier, Lecturer in Law.

    Holborn College students visit The Royal Courts of Justice

    The Royal Courts of Justice cleared court room 65 for Holborn College students to re-enact a contemporary drug trial. The event organised by the college with the support of NCCL enabled law students not only to put on the wig and gowns but also act as judge and jury along with students also taking the parts of the defendant as well as the defending and prosecuting Barristers.
